AAFN was created in 1982 after the NBD wished to create a national alumni association for students and advisors that had given many years of service and time to their respective schools and regions. Membership in the AAFN is open to any individual. A $100 contribution to the AAFN is required, along with the AAFN application. New members of AAFN are recognized at the national conference each year.

SAACURH Four Year Service Award (NACURH and SAACURH)
Applications Available: Available Now
SAAS was created in the spring of 2007 and implemented in the fall of 2008 as a regional version of AAFN. A $30 contribution to SAAS is required, along with the SAAS application. SAAS inductees are recognized at each of the regional meetings.

Silver Pins
Silver Pins are given by the Regional Director, generally at the end of each year, as a form of recognition to those that have served the region greatly over the past year. Silver pins cannot be applied for and are given only at the discretion of the Regional Director.
